Muffler discovery
« on: February 01, 2019, 01:36:03 AM »
Just found out tonight that a OS 2030 muffler fits perfectly on a K&B 40 engine.
I'm probably the 73rd guy in here to figure it out, but I thought it was a neat find.

The 843 that comes with the .25LA has the same bolt spacing as the Stalker .51. side exhaust.
I may be wrong but I doubt it.

Bolt spacing is 1.25" so it also fits the OS Max 35S. At RSM ?Distribution we have been manufacturing a tongue muffler weighing 0.02 oz for over 20 years.

OK Eric, I know you are good. But really, a 0.02 ounce muffler.

Mr. Walker, sir. You are correct.
I am good but really OLD! What's a zero or two between friends?
The correct weight of the muffler is 2/10 oz. The weight should read 0.2 oz

An OS 762 muffler is an exact match to the spacing on a Fox 35. For convenience, I've run a 4/40 tap into an already tapped (metric) OS muffler and use 4/40 bolts. It works quite well, but it looks like I kept the metric threads on this one.

The OS .40/.46LA muffler fits and works really well on a Magnum XLS .36 (or XLS .32, I suppose).  y1 Steve

I have found this segment quite interesting! Which of these or other tube mufflers will mate up with an ST G21 .40/ .46? Can anyone please help me with this dilemma?

Thanks,

The ST G.21 .40/.46, ST G.51 and ST .60bb all are supposed to be the same bolt pattern. FLOW is another subject. I would not expect good results from a .40 muffler on a G.51 or .60bb.

One of my models flew originally with a Royal .45, then ST G.51 that was drilled for two extra bolts. I came by a used GMA Magnum XL .53 and put it in that model. The mounting bolts matched up with the Royal pattern perfectly. A little fiddling with the notch for NV, and used the same ST muffler as the G.51 (a Randy Aero CNC tube muffler with 4-40 bolts). This doesn't guarantee that a Magnum muffler would fit, because of the 3mm screws being bigger than the 4-40's, but if one was to put 4-40 helicoils in the Magnum muffler, it would probably work ok. But their mufflers are pretty hefty things now, tho not as bad as the OS mufflers. But if you need nose weight....  y1 Steve

If its 28 M.M. the *^%#! FSR OS / HP  ( and an Enya ) ones'd match .

The Toungue ( C.S.C. ) is rowdie but runs superior , In my experiance .

Thisisa ' pirate ' copy .

Has three holes ( 6 mm ? = depth of OS Exhaust ) in a block of Alloy , with three slots catching them ( half depth ) outlets .

Need to grind a bits end flat , really . to get the end bit . Three holes bored thru. NOT a rectangle ..

Anyone got a real one - I'd like it , or  trade / etc .
