My Mom always backed me and my models, took me to the hobby shops to local contest I went out to her grave site to day to check on the flowers. Like it was yesterday standing there I rememberd when I was about 11 or 12 someone had given me a 8 ft. Sinbad glider that needed to be covered. Me and two of my buddy’s were in my bedroom doping paper on the wings. Mom came and saw the magnitude of the project and promptly run us out of the house into the back yard. It was windy but that didn’t slow us at all one held the wing down the other held the paper down while I doped. About 10 minutes of this My mom came out and said bring the plane back into the house. Years later she told me she liked the models because she always knew exactly where I was.

That's a good story. Your mom had a lot of good common sense and sounds like she was a great mother. You can't ask for more.

Hi Wills,
Since my Dad's Mother raised me, it isn't "exactly" a Mother's Day story, but she was my "Mom". ;D
She was very interested in me getting involved in building C/L planes. When I got a Scientific "King Cobra" 1/2A kit (my first "kit"! ), she set up the kitchen table for me like she wanted it. A couple layers of newspaper so that I couldn't "mess up" the table. And she always got it ready for me anytime I needed to "build" after that.
Between her and Grandpa, they created a MONSTER! y1 <=
