Hey guys,
Anybody know which motel(s) will be used by the Stunt guys at the Nat's?
Thanks,
Jim

I *think* the old Ramada (don't know what it is now) is "Headquarters".

Hi, Jim
According the Bob Storick's post in the Events Section, the PAMPA HQ at the 2007 Nats will be the Signature Inn in Muncie (the same place as last year).

In case the Signature is full, Lee's Inn next door is good. Lots of stunt folks stay there.

Is the Signature the old Ramada?
-
No, and to complicate matters, it may not be the Signature anymore.
The Signature, Lee's, Holiday Inn Express, and a bunch of others are clumped together just off McGalliard, north of town. They now offer the advantage of having a Starbucks on the way to the field. They are also close to two Dairy Queens. The Ramada is somewhere else. Iskandar knows of a cheap mom-and-pop place close to the field-- the Hilltop, maybe.

Thanks, Howard. I remember abot 10 years ago when the "Ramada" was the Headquarters. Then it "changed it's name", but I didn't know to what....
Been to the Dairy Queen with the Ice Cream Hounds, Bob and Billy.
There was one out near Ball State which had a very cheap Weekly Rate, and wasn't as bad as the "Heart of Muncie", or something like, that which Aaron, and I, stayed one night in.

Last year the old Ramada was called the Best Value Inn. Not
glamorous, but cheap and fun. All the doors open to the outside,
so it's easy to get your planes in and out of the room, if necessary.
Lots of fun gathering in the courtyard and drinking a few (or more)
cold ones. Also, it's a much shorter drive to the field than the
motels on McGalliard.

The Dairy Queen with the weekly rate sounds like my kind of place.
