Most engines running at Brodaks
« on: June 26, 2010, 11:12:26 AM »
OK guys; Maybe I missed it some where, but did they do the most engines running thing? How many did you get running? Was it loud? Was this posted somewhere and I missed it?

Yet another thing that wouldn't be as impressive with electrics.

If you got enough of them going it might be interesting to compare the smoke to prop inch ratio...

Maybe you should have brought out the old bull whip and got them going.  I know there were probably enough planes there to do it.  Maybe not enough people?  Maybe talk it up for next year. H^^

When the 5 Bi-Slobs were up the sound reminded me a lot of one of the big T-6 fly-overs at Oshkosh. ;D

Noisy is an understatement! If I ran six at once, the whole town would have heard.
I totally agree - one of the noisiest engines ever.

We'll just have to get this started at the local level. Maybe unofficial to start the ball rolling.

Probably could use the number of official flights as a record, too. Number of PA patterns flown at a contest.

People do crazier things for records all the time. Over the weekend they set a record for the Zombie march again.

I was watching some youtube video last night of the 2010 Flyin and I think the scale guys set the current record at 11 engines. The WWII flight had:

2x Four engine bombers
1x Two engine model
1x One engine P-51

At first I thought it was going to be the BiSlob flight or the Junkyard wars group flight but the scale guys smoked them.
