I used to make copies of photos by putting them under a sheet of glass on a flat board outside (used my portable wooden drafting board). Then outdoors under natural sunlight, with a camera on a tripod with either a macro lens or macro filters focus with camera pointed down, snap photo. That was back in the day with 35mm SLR film cameras. Then have the film developed and enlargements made of the smaller photos.

Today, digital cameras and photo editing software has done away with the darkroom.
