Title: More Pictures From KOI
Post by: Steve Fitton on January 24, 2012, 06:34:11 PM
Finally sorted out some pictures that could go up online from this years King Orange.  Many thanks again to the X-47 club and the entire Weedman family for a great contest!

The parking job was from a not-to-be-named-here member of the Weedman family, with the sun shining directly through the windshield as a contributing factor.  The car was retrieved with no damage other than a few laughs.

The Arizona guys stayed warm like everybody else, in the big building.  That worked great to keep warm except when the cooking crew got a little carried away with the fried chicken and filled the whole building with cooking oil fumes(!)

I should have dropped my DS 50 in the cooking oil to warm it up.  It seemed like my engine HATED the cold, and from what I could see it looked like the Arizona contingents DS 54s hated the cold as well.  It seemed that all the engines wanted to either go down to a staggering rich run or switch over to a hard two stroke, with no inbetween.  Its hard to troubleshoot with only one freezing cold contest each year.
