Yes, that's Brian. He surprised us by coming a long distance to our little clambake. Brian said he had wanted to go to Eugene, and had planned it for months, but in the end just couldn't take the time for the trip. Not sure who the red shirt wearer is who is not Larry Fernandez. Of course those are Larry's stunning T-Bird and Checkmate 3 in the photos on the accompanying post. You have to see these models to believe them. Larry was feeling a bit under the weather so prudently did not fly either one.

Mayb this is the growth of control line.  I remember when the Sky Devils of KCMo would do this with the famiies.  My son and other young ones under an inverted play pen.  Fly when and if we wanted.  No judges, score sheets or tabulators.  Except for time to eat almost constant flying.  Love the pictures.  The food was great and there was lots of it. Everybody spoiled my dog and he spent a lot of time chasing squirrels.  I was hesitant to fly as the weeds along the asphalt dounut stick up a bit and have been known to grab control lines, and turn the airplane 90 degrees to port. You feel pretty helpless as the plane flys over your head at about 30-40 feet, knowing that when she hits the end of the lines, it not going to be pretty.

I hate it when that happens
