Model Trains. (Ouch).
« on: May 17, 2013, 03:29:36 PM »
A good pal David Peacock has written a history of "The Leeds Model Co. 1912-2012". This Co. was started by Rex Stedman, the 2nd. winner of the Wakefield Trophy, designer of full size aircraft, and chief test pilot of the Blackburn Aircraft Co. during WW2. The Leeds concentrated on model railways, becoming 3rd. largest in Britain after Hornby and Basset-Lowke.
In our newsletter Sticks and Tissue it was reported the book sold out in 4 months. To a degree this is true, but I can report that Dave still has some copies available from him personally. The book comes with a lavishly illustrated CD. I'm sure if asked nicely he would sign it for you.
For more info e-mail dave at < dpeacock(at)btconnect(dot)com >.

[I can remember the schedule o.k., the problem is remembering what was the last manoeuvre I just flew!].
