Title: Model Survey
Post by: builditright on September 25, 2011, 09:56:27 PM
Would anyone be interested in a kit of Steve Buso's Litewave design?

The plans are already in the works. The Litewave originally had a foam wing but
Steve gave the okay for a builtup wing.

Other than a preview of the drawings I don't have any photos
to show a Litewave at this time but have asked a few friends
so I hope to get something to show soon.

Oops!, I did forget to include the specs, didn't I... Sorry.

Span: 52"

Area: the plan says
Gross area: 560 sq. in
Effective area: 539.50 sq. in
Autocad calculated the area: 542.21" so we're going with that.

Eng.
The plan says .40 or other
but Steve said a .35 -.46 would be plenty

Length
42.50"

Hey Walter,....

Is the Litewave still in the works??  Ever since I stumbled across this thread I can't get the image and idea out of my head.

I may have to break my own rule,... "No more new kits until I start building some of the ones I already have."

P.S.  I like the idea of a built-up wing.

The 52" Fox 35 type stunter seems to be falling out of favor these days.  Look at the top contests, and the winners are flying 56" - 60" planes with larger engines.  There are still many die-hard Fox guys flying, but they are handicapped at a PAMPA contest.

I like the Lightwave, but I'd prefer the Vegas. Call it personal taste.

Hi Steve,
it has not been stopped but I would like to see a little more interest
in it before we go into all that it takes.

Can't say I like it. I'd have to agree with Randy and go with the Vegas. y1

Randy noticed it. This fuse has all the symmetry of a 2X4.

My favorite Buso design is the Psyclone. Style-wise it's AWESOME!  :)!  :)!  :)!

I'll be the first to admit: I don't like angular designs(think Cardinal) but Psyclone is something else!

The look was inspired by Slasher/Freddy Kruger/Phsyco horror films.

If anyone kits it, I'll get TWO!

Of course, the quintessential Buso design is the Cascade series. Steve designed a 46 and a 60 size designs.

Walter,...

If there is not much interest in a full blown kit of the Litewave,... would you be willing to offer plans for the Built-Up Wing version of the Litewave with a laser cut rid set??

Sincerely,
Steve T.

Walter,

The design is nice. Great clean lines, not overdesigned. Should be a winner!

Wish I had money.

Hi Walter,

The Litewave is an excellent design!  It should easily be popular by the somewhat less than Top 5 NATS level pilots.  It should make a good "weather" contest plane or Intermediates and Advanced pilots, plus a great sport flying model.

Seems there really should be more interest! (maybe it's just a present day "economic" thing....... ??? )
