Mid-week. A great time to get out and grab the lines and take to the sky. Wednesday is when the Minneapolis Piston Poppers have an informal gathering out at the field. A freshly mown circle and the smell of sweet grass while rolling out the lines and seeing all the planes in the pits is so gratifying. It was a fine evening with no wind, cool weather and cloudy skies. Getting to watch other fly and do their patterns is helpful for me but really....it is about fun. And getting outside. Bob, John, Keith, Tony and myself were the lucky ones to get out and fly, fly, fly.
I may have gotten the name of Tony's plane wrong.....regrets if so.
All secure in sector seven,
Shug

I made a last minute decision to chase.....I'm glad I did. Came out better than I thought it would.
Made the skeeter tally on the heads of the other Poppers!
It was a mighty fine night.
Now I am off for a night in the woods in the hammock...still in lines.

Another GREAT video Shug! Looks like you and the Mustang are getting along very well! y1

That is a good video of you guys having fun. I flew my Cardinette at the Tuesday night club meeting in Topeka. Hadn't flown it in years and Zambelli is right I was on too long a line. The little four stroke fired off without any trouble. Had the needle set too lean and was cutting out after the square 8's. Need to get more time on the plane.

Yessir....want folks to now we have some good CL activity here. Always more to do and learn. Nice to hear that you got one of those ol' planes out on the grass and into the sky!

The weather is looking tolerable for flying Sunday, I think I'll finally, actually, for real, be making the trip up to the field! ;D

The "HotShot" is an original design by Keith Sandberg that was built around the wing from a Brodak ARC P-40. The main wing is from the ARC P-40, but the larger flaps and all of the rest of the airplane is new design and built from scratch. It's a built up profile and power is a Saito .56.
