MPP New Year's Frozen Fun Fly '15
« on: January 01, 2015, 04:27:15 PM »
Happy New Year everyone! The Minneapolis Piston Poppers had a great turnout and got in a fair amount of flying today. Activities started at 11:00am and ran until a little after 2:00pm. We really lucked out and had the best weather in quite a few years for this annual event, it was well into the 20's with a good bit of sun and just a light breeze. Only yesterday, when Keith and Tony were out clearing a circle and a pit area with the snowblower, it was barely above zero with a stiff 25 mph wind. Big thanks to them for toughing it out with their dedicated prep work, we had a really nice circle to use today. After the majority of the flying was finished we took a short break for the raffle drawings and a few group photos. By then the pot of chili was near empty and everyone left with a smile to kick off another year of flying. Sean was out there taking pics and shooting some video so I'm sure we'll see some entertaining stuff pop up here soon. Til then, here are some photos from the day...

I counted 14 members who turned out today.  We all enjoyed a 'balmy' 20 degrees with a bit of sun and cooperating winds.  The chili was great!

I suppose you want me to move my photo over here now from the other thread, oh all right then.
Yeah, it was a lot of fun and a great weather day for us.

Here's a group photo, only Steve and Alex are missing as they left shortly before I took the photo.

And here's our token juggler at work, bare handed too.

Here's Keith, Wayne and Sean,

Fun, fun, fun today. Nice to wrap me mitt around a handle. It has been since the Carolina Criterium since I have flown.
Working on video and here are a few of my pictures. Love the group shot))))
I won scissors in the raffle and I need them.
Thanks to Karen for the chili and all who made this event happen. I bow to you.

Thanks for the great pictures.   Not that long ago I would have been out and having fun too.   Needless to say I did not make it to the TOPClass fun fly.
