Title: Mikes hobby shop in the Dallas area.
Post by: Paul Taylor on June 04, 2014, 05:35:37 PM
Found this in my email. Seems the DOT wants to expand the highway next to the hobby shop and condemn it.

I went in this shop a few years ago. Was very impressed. They even had two alses of CL stuff.
Hope the link works.

I sighed it. Hope you guys will help keep a LHS open.

Every time I go to Arlington TX to visit my Sister-in-law, I try and make a stop at Mike's Hobby Shop.   I still remember the little corner shop he started in.   Has it really been that many years ago.

I signed it way back when it was on RCU. I am a hard-core TEXAN, but that water thing that was voted on some time ago certainly indicated that many grown people are dumber that a door-bell. Many folks think that the petition was for good. No more about that here if not too much already.  S?P     If the big-rich want Mike's Hobby Shop GONE, then he may as well pack his bags.

Mikes is bout 3 miles from our company training center in Carrollton, and I have made a point of supporting him every trip I get to Dallas. He is one of the good ones, and also has an awesome web-site. Some of his projects are just crazy fun, like giant RC boat that he could sit in, R/C balloons, Zagi combat, etc.

The Race car tracks are top notch, retail store has good prices and selection, and everybody working there is helpful and knowledgeable. Mikes is more than just another business about to get bulldozed to add 2 more lanes to a parking lot;

It is the heart blood of modeling in the area, and provides a safe fun place for kids  from 6 to 96 to learn and enjoy so many different aspects of this hobby.
