Mike Lindler, one of our most dedicated fliers in DV has suffered a major coronary two days ago. A very quick response by his crew at the airport restaurant where they were dining probably saved his life. My understanding is that he is stabilized now. Doctors say he will have to have a heart transplant. His heart was severally damaged. He is at a very good hospital in Charlotte, NC that is very respected in treating heart disease. We will keep him and his family in our daily prayers. WE hope yawl will too. Mike is a Captain 1st seat for American Airlines. He is I believe 60 years old. He is a great guy.
God Bless,
Doug and Kathleen Patterson

The club president at my club has been on the heart transplant list for years. He carries a pager that will go off if they locate one and he has minutes to call back saying he can get to Miami for the surgery. He has an external pump that circulates his blood and has an internal pace maker and defibulator. He has no idea if he will live to see the day he gets his transplant.

Incredibly sad news - I was truly shocked to hear about this tragedy.
Mike is one of my closest friends and a top flying buddy.
We got together to fly at least once a week and he never complained about any health issues.
Please keep him in your prayers as I will do.

Kathleen and I have just received a message from Tom Dixon that Mike has passed on to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus. I will really miss this gentle easy going friend. Our prayers are for peace, comfort, strength, and grace to be with his wife and family

This really sucks. I considered Mike a good friend. We hung out at contests, pitted for each other and shot the bull, always enjoying a cocktail or two back at the hotel. He had a great sense of humor and was one of the most likable people you'll ever meet. Prayers to his family. Blue Skies my friend, I will miss you.
