    There are agencies in our government that have been shipping weapons to ISIS and guns to narco traffickers south of the border in operation “Fast and Furious” but me and my kit built .19 to .36 powered stunt, combat and sport models on 60 foot lines are what need regulating? What has gone wrong common sense? I absolutely am just bewildered and I don’t believe I am alone in my bewilderment. An activity that required nary a thought about interference from any part of the government. Me and my fellow control line fliers always focused on enjoying the wholesomeness and excitement of aerodynamics, always with a nod to staying safe. Now, we are having to worry about “running afoul of the law”.     


     One question:   WHY ?

I think it's simply because the federal government is way too large and out of control.  Any Government organization that gets too large loses contact with the people and begins to feed itself by exerting more and more control by regulations.  It becomes a mindless monster.

Besides it's much easier to regulate common people than criminals.  There is always some strange belief that if they can regulate the common folks they won't become bad guys....also it's often very dangerous to regulate the bad guys!!!!

Herding sheep is a lot easier than trying to herd a pack of wolves and you can still tell yourself you're trying to protect the sheep.

Happens in every country where the "people" are willing to give up their freedom for a false sense of security!

I truly believe that a large part of America has become a self serving mob that will empower anyone that promises them "free stuff".  Sad but true!

Can this trend be stopped?  Yes it can, but it always seems to take about 50 to 60 years for everyone to wake up and do something about it!

Most of these crap issues are simple

Long ago Congress (our ELECTED officials ,supposed to be accountable to US/WE "The People") abdicated their responsibility and created entities that ARE NOT accountable and CAN NOT be UN-ELECTED by "We The People"

WE certainly can argue the DOT and sub set FAA are Necessary evils we need.... BUT they are just another congressional bureaucracy we has NO SAY in....

This all is really about power, money, and some form of letting the general public know "WE ARE DOING SOMETHING" (send us more money so we can grow and enforce this serious threat)

This BS will continue until WE THE PEOPLE force a few NEW additions to the US CONSTITUTION yet again LIMITING the Federal Government as ORIGINALLY INTENDED

If you are typical American, and have NOT read (and understand) the Constitution, or have  further educated your self by research and reading ALL the Federalist papers and ALL other historical effort that went into the final RATIFIED US Constitution...well then I suggest..

You go to your corner..  sit, perhaps suck your thumb, maybe stick your head further in the sand, and then shut the hell up...and please stop voting

Until we FIRE (vote for anyone but the incumbent) EVERY SENATOR and House OF Representative congressman...they will continue to lie to us, get elected, go there, write laws that only favor THEM and SCREW all of US/WE THE PEOPLE

What, me worry? (Alfred E. Neuman, circa 1955) My self-built planes on wires never get anywhere near regulated federal airspace. I fly safely with only 6 minutes of fuel, usually on a US Army base to the backdrop sounds of grenades, automatic weapons fire, an occasional Reaper Drone whispering over, and always with an FAA Investigator as my flying buddy. I ain't worried about it, he ain't worried about it, and we ain't gonna be worried about it.

Yes, this is my first response to the hundreds or maybe thousands of posts on the subject, and I'm betting I'll see lots of uptight snarky responses condemning my lack of worry on this particular subject, though I do worry plenty about the state of our Nation, just not this.

I believe them to be a legitimate organization with an achievable goal.
I've supported their petition and sent emails to my congressmen and am pleased to find that Tennessee is one of 5 states so far to vote in support of a national convention by the people to reign in the federal government, as provided for in our constitution.
Spend a few minutes to understand their goals and proposed method, support as best you can - it may be the greatest gift we could give to our children and grandchildren.

     Terry, I second your motion.  I am an active supporter of the CONVENTION OF STATES PROJECT also.  The success of this project, which must powered by involvement of the American people, is vital.

I too support the Convention of States and believe it to be the only viable approach to set things right and reign it the Federal Government and bring the US back to the country that our founders intended it to be. 
They provided this tool in the Constitution because they had the foresight to see that the state of the Federal Government could one day arrive at this impasse.  We're here and it's time to do something about it.
