The LA and FP have the same bolt patern and diameter, but a different amount of material inside the case.  Check before doing that swap.

Backplates for the Magnum .15 GP, Thunder Tiger .15 GP, OS .15 FP and LA are interchangeable.  An individual on eBay offers a wide selection of laser cut gaskets - great product, great service, very reasonable prices.

The only backplate I found that isnt interchangeable with the Thunder Tigers is the .25 backplate on a .25LA. Doesnt fit all the way on the case.

But the .40FP backplate fits perfect on a .46LA.

Yep.. even offers allen head screws and gaskets as a package set if desired too.

Has anyone tried a Thunder Tiger Gp 42 back plate (part AA0576) in a LA 46? They seem to be the same as the old OS FP40 backplate and are still in production.
Busted a back plate on the weekend when a loose tank started a vibration that loosened things up and took off the metal N/V bracket and part of the backplate with it!

Bolt pattern matches up but the outside diameter is about 60 thou to big. An easy fix with a small lathe
 I sold a bunch of them awhile back but no longer can get them "tower don't handle them any more" Cost was cheap at less the $4 bucks.

I don't use a metal plate on the LA's any more I cut an o ring groove and they seal up just fine, but you do need a lathe to do it

Thanks Richard, I will give the O ring groove a go on a new plastic backplate. Did find an old Magnum GP44 backplate fitted the LA 46 as well but it has a large piston cut out I presume for the greater stroke (the GP44 is rare too).
