Christmas Flights
« on: December 25, 2015, 01:03:45 PM »
It is freakishly warm in Southern Pennsylvania.  I had two so-so flights in a corn field behind the house.  That stuff catches in the lines.  No incidents though.  Just a broken propeller on one bad take off.  Using a stooge line in the fodder was something.  I ran one tank of fuel away on the ground while untangling lines that I thought were untangled. Also had to stabilize the stooge with a screw driver in the ground. The landings did some damage on the bottom of the wing.  Just needs some glue and mono-kote.  I am thrilled to have flown on Christmas day.  I am wondering who else had such fortune or the time to do so.

I made it out to the field today.  The weather in DFW was too good to pass up.  Light winds and about 70 degrees.  Those conditions will change dramatically.   Storms tomorrow and then much colder with possible snow on Sunday and the usual cold and gusty winter winds.  Next week we will be lucky to see 50 degrees.

Same here in central Michigan.  Managed to get in 4 flights on the circle in the back yard.  Cannot remember the last time I have flown on Christmas day.  I thunk that this is the 3rd or 4th time I have been out this month.   Crazy weather for sure.
