If you know someone who needs to see this, show it to them. I was proud to have served my country. To all my brothers who served, I salute you.

Thanks Mike.
My wife lost her father in france just after D day during the "Battle of the Bulge". He is buried in a cemetary in France, and was lieutanant in the 82nd Airborne Division. She was only three years old but Memorial day has a very special meaning for us because of that!

I am thankful for those who paid for our freedom.
Found this on the web.

World War II: 405,399 Americans died.
Korean War: 36,574 Americans died.
Vietnam Conflict: 58,220 Americans died. More than 47,000 Americans were killed in action and nearly 11,000 died of other causes.
Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm: 148 U.S. battle deaths and 145 non-battle deaths.
Operation Iraqi Freedom: 4,422 U.S. service members died.
Operation New Dawn: 66 U.S. service members died.

I am remembering American Servicemen, but also Law Enforcement Officers, Fire Fighters and EMTs who have given their lives in the line of duty.
Remembering Sgt William McEntee, Kirkwood, MO Police Dept. EOW July 5, 2005.
Respectfully,
Dan McEntee

Well put, Dan, and thank you for reminding us of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice here on home soil. They were and are still helping to protect our freedom along side our wonderful troops. The further we get into this crazy conflict with other factions, the more I appreciate the opportunity I had to serve. We who read here all made it back, we need to remember those and their families who did not.

Lest we forget, there are still about 83,000 Americans listed as MIA from World War II, the Korean War, the Cold War, the Vietnam War and the 1991 Gulf War.
