I get about five of those offshore scams per day.

Another good one is the "IRS" email that says you have  a tax refund coming.  Just kindly fill in all your personal data and we'll credit the refund to your checking account (routing number, please).

Its amazing how many stupid people fall for these scams. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Unless you inherit of win the Lotto. I don't play the lotto and have no rich relatives so I guess I will work for a living.

Never respond to something that sounds too good to be true.  Never hyperlink to a site such as ebay or paypal from within your email. Always look at the web address, very easy to tell if it is the real deal

If I don't recognize the name of the sender it gets deleted without opening.  If it shows up in my junk file it is history also.  Have fun,  DOC Holliday

Doc
A word to the wise, I have worked in the computer industry for 39 years and the truth is you can't even trust an email from someone you know.  The reason being there are so many PCs that have been compremised with "Trojan Horses" and are use to flood the internet with spam emails.  These emails will bear the name of good honest people who don't know their machine is being used.  I know it sound crazy that you can't trust anybody but be real careful.  Also make sure you have good spam filter software (read something you paid for not free) and keep it current with updates, and keep you operating system current with updates.  As you can see I really hate spammers, I advocate long prison sentences for these people.  Yes, I have written my senators several times regarding this problem, for all the good it has done.

First rule is, don't open attachments unless you were expecting them. Andrew's comment about "Trojan Horses" is very apt. Spyware gets into your Windows system and will send out mass emails unbeknownst to you; often with viruses attached. Bad Mojo.

HI George,

That one is a hoot.  My wife has her BSN and has been an RN for over 36 years, so I asked her what they were talking about.  Well, after the whole 9 yards explanation, I told her that if it ever happens to me, inform the neighbourhood!!!!  LL~  LL~  LL~  LL~  **)  **)
