Had a great time! Thanks for putting it on, Jimby!

Those scores are way up in the stratosphere! Wish I had judges like that!

That's certainly one possible explanation.

Brett,
It looks like you are going to have to upgrade to a 75 to beat Dave!
Yeah.... A 575... :)
-
I hope that score of Ted's in Expert is indicative of some sort of mechanical issue and not a catastrophe.

Nope. He was just terrible. ;D
Yes, Ted was having some sort of engine issue all day.

OR...... We're just awesome in CA! 8)

In the land of perrenial sunshine, we get a LOT of practice! And now that we fly electric, you can practice just about anywhere. Andy B and I usually get in a couple of days of flying a week.

I'm enjoying the fact that will probably be the only time I will ever see my name and score ahead of Ted.....

Floyd,
Its not about the scores its about placement...

I kind of doubt that, Rich. I got to judge you guys this weekend. You're a lot better than you think you are.

No one's mentioned the great BBQ! The MnM is a great contest punctuated with a Great BBQ lunch each day between rounds. Lots of fun. The weather was good too; a tad hot but the winds stayed flyable until late Sunday.
The flying field showed a lot of progress from last year. The club deserves kudos for all the work they've done.
Good job Uncle Jimby!

Thanks Brian. This is one of those events that succeed because so many contribute. It's corny, but the saying, "Givers Gain", holds true here.

and as far as judging goes, I doubt Clint will ever be asked to judge Expert at the Meat and Meet again (cuz now he are wun!) CLP** 8)

Huh...Ex world Champs Ex National Champs...exactly the range I would expect to see the scores in (except for Ted's of course...Shxt happens).
These scores are in about the same range as the Expert scores here in Tucson this weekend at the Marschenke Memorial. Lou Wolgast won it with a very good second flight at 573.
Heavy wind in the first round and several folks waived that round but then Mother Nature gave us a break and the wind while certainly not mild got a lot better and everyone flew the second round. Scores in the same range as those shown above...No world champs here but a couple ex Nats champs and some good guys.
Hopefull someone will post the results of out contest...didn't mean to hijack this thread.

The new field looks quite good! I'll try and find $ in the budget for attending next year. It's BYOM, I take it? #^ Steve

Come on down, Steve. There's always seem to be plenty of meet......um.....I mean meat, to go around. Doug Barton and his wife make darn sure nobody starves.

There is always extra meat at the M&M. Pictures: Clint demonstrating proper form in the hurl, still not good enough for the record. Ted doing some adjustments in the field while Heman Lee, Jerry Arana and Larry Fernandez lend support. Rich Walbridge and his new Diva stunter. 8)

Yeh!, and Brian wouldn't let anybody touch his Big Burger.
I think he took the BYOM (Bring Your Own Meat) rule too seriously.

Thanks Clint!
Thanks really goes to Doug Barton, then Jim Cunningham, Pete Cunha and Brian Moore. But real kudos goes to Doug by far.

It's not the size that counts, so I hear.

You guys are so lucky.

Actually, Paul Pomposo brought out the biggest piece of meat ( 2 - 1lb grass feed porthouses) on Sunday. I think Jimby should have another award for that. Or ask Doug to dig a big pit for next years BBQ.
