Convert SV 11 to electric power
« on: September 21, 2011, 09:17:19 AM »
I have an SV 11 that is complete with the exception of the final color coats.  Because I can make some structural changes, if necessary, without messing up the final finish I am considering a conversion to electric power.  The plane is currently set up to use an ST 60.  The current weight without paint is 53 oz. I have no experience with electric power and I am looking for some suggestions as to what type of equipment I should use such a motor, batteries, ESC and charger.  I am also looking for a recommendation for up to date basic printed materials regarding e-power.

As always your assistance will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Peter,Check the all amped up section.Bob  Branch did a whole build thread on an electric SV-11 and then check "List your set-up" and Norm Whittles "Electric Cookbook".Both of those are in "All Amped Up" also. You will find all the info you need.I may(will) seem a bit confusing at first. You can also try Brodak and RSM for plug and play systems that will work for you.Jeff
