Sounds like the name of a boat doesn't it? But it's my new plane, named after the middle names of my two granddaughters. I have a Continental that I love, but I decided to build another one with a few mods. So it's a Continental wing and vertical, but the horizontal is 5% larger. The fuselage is my own design and the engine is a side mounted LA .46. I tried a few new construction methods I've been thinking about, and they went well. Here's the details:
1. Built-up flaps and horizontal tail (see photo)
2. Box fuselage with blue foam top and bottom. Foam is covered with 3 layers of 3/4 oz glass cloth using MinnWax Polycrylic
3. Clear UltraCote wing covering ruffed with 400 grit paper before primer
4. Side mounted engine with R/C firewall mount
5. Fiberglass cowl using lost foam method
6. All wood sealed with 1 coat of Polycrylic. Then I used my fingers to apply two coats of "slightly" thinned Elmer's wood putty to all wood surfaces. Sanded between coats with 320 grit. Sanded super easy and then another coat of Polycrylic before DupliColor primer. Minimum primer required. Actually just enough to stabilize color coat.
7. DupliColor lacquer, water-slide decals, and 2K Spraymaxx clear.
8. Weighs 46 ozs.
Waiting for cooler weather here in NE Texas before I give it a spin.

So, how much does it weigh?
Keith

Item 8 on his list says it weighs 46 oz.
I'd like to know how he's going to get the tire marks out of the white table cloth.
Nice airplane, wishing it a long and successful life.

Looks very nice .
Im inclined to notch the muffler bolts at the joint face , or a bit down . With the side mount set up . Just in case the earth moves .
Like tyhe symetry in the ( some ) pictures .

Very nice. What was the finish color...Dope, spray paint etc?

Item #7 Mike. Do you guys take time to read the posts??? S?P S?P S?P

Beautiful job, well done.
So instead of molding top and bottom blocks, you just carved/sanded the blue foam and then covered it with glass. Interesting.
Different combination of finishing methods, looks like all went well.
Kind of has a Max Bee look to it, I like it.
Two thumbs up.

I like it. Nice color scheme. Hope you get many flights with it. H^^

I gotta ask, why the R/C carb?

Mike,
Just in case the two wire thing don't work out! Never hurts to plan ahead ya know! y1 y1 S?P

Paul,
Gotta tell you. I love the way you've laid in a good looking red wing within the white. Overpowers the white and gives the illusion of the ship having a wing more appropriate to the size of the rest of it...their oversized wings being one of the few things about the vast majority of stunt ships I've never grown to love. y1 y1 #^

Looks great and I LOVE that wide track!!!

Roy I replied to your remark in a private message.

That is a right good looking airplane.

Well, I thought I was just an old senior kidding a couple of old seniors over some of our fables. Guess not as it pissed them off instead.
Keith, I apologize for my remark. It was not my intention to insult you. I thought you knew me better than that. Again, I apologize.
As for Mike, since you threaten me, I"ll just pass you off as a poor sport IMHO. Oh by the way, cancel my order for the Frisky Pete.

Thanks Roy for your remarks as I too wonder if guys as well as me really comprehend what we are reading. I am surprised I didn't get hit with comments about the post greatest stunt plane never published. Maybe run into you again some time. H^^

Nice plane! Did you take any pictures during the construction process?

I gotta ask, why the R/C carb?
Mike,
I used the R/C carb because I only fly for fun, not competition and I've had good luck using the R/C carbs on several other engines. I ran this engine on a test stand to establish fuel burn numbers with the carb set open. But, I may close down the carb barrel a little at a time if needed during flight testing. I've used the remote needle location in the past with good results. I have a C/L venturi/needle if needed, but based on past experience, this should work fine for my type of flying.

Brent,
I only took a few photos of the bellcrank system during construction. It was the first time I used the self correcting "V" type bellcrank and I wanted to be able to duplicate the system on another plane if I like this type of bell crank. Sorry, no other photos except the flap construction posted in my original post.
