Maybe a new date for the KOI
« on: March 05, 2006, 01:18:53 PM »
Guys and Gals:

Our club would like to know what you folks would think about moving the King Orange International from the current January date to some time in mid to late February.

There are no other contests currently taking place in the SE during that time frame and historically, the weather is less apt to be as cold or as windy as mid January (the cold fronts tend to weaken in the latter half of February).

Any thoughts from anyone?

Bill,
Good idea.
Suggestion: Ensure the dates do not conflict with Daytona 500 as motels are hard to get, even in Orlando.
We learned the hard way, we now schedule our K-9 competition(s) so as not to interfere with Speed Week activities.

The middle of Feb would be OK, before SpeedWeeks / Daytona. Only conflict might be Valentines Day, but hey - we can always bring the wife back a brand new KOI T-shirt to go with the card!
