May 2009 All-Seasons Patch
« on: May 03, 2009, 02:18:45 PM »
Steve Smith, Joe Thompson and I braved the winds to get in a early May flight for the 2009 All Seasons badge.  It was forecast to be 5-10 mph.  It was more like 15-20 and gusty.  Joe who does not like wind flew his Smoothie very nicely.  She seems to handle the wind well.  That's Steve Smith (aka "Wavyhill") with his Ted Winderman Special.  He struggled with engine runs.  I got in an "official" and was happy to get my .20 FP powered SkyRay back down in one piece.  We were treated with a visit with Sean McEntee.  Sean was on his way back to Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.

And Sean didn't bug someone to borrow a plane for a flight??? :) I chickened out when we were at my mom's house right before he left. The wind was whipping the rees around pretty good in North St. Louis County, andthey were talking rain for most of the day, so I proceeded with other things. Turns out it hasn't rained and has been pretty calm the rest of the day, but looked like it could cut loose at any minute! I'll get some flights next weekend.
   Type at you later,
