How does Apple TV work? Will the show ever be released to one of the other venues? (Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix?) Or will it always and only be on Apple TV?

Good question, in the meantime you'll have to subscribe to Apple TV.

We cancelled Netflix the movies were not that good. Check out Apple TV at $9.99 per month the previews look much better, we haven't signed up yet. I noticed Tom Hanks in the Greyhound 2020 film which also looks like a good WW2 movie. For the $120.00 for the year it's a much better deal compared only three visits at the Movie Tavern including two sodas and a bucket of popcorn. Friday's are of course senior day before 5pm but your still not at home in the comfort of your couch with Orville Redenbacher.

I wrote this in the comment section of the promotion article for this movie the other day.  This series looks to be a good one.
I knew a B-17 pilot. He was a customer in the store I had worked in.  As we were talking about this and that. Come to find out he was a WW-2 B-17 pilot.
Judging from this clip and what Irv. (Irving) told me. What these young pilots and crew members had to go through. I don't think words could describe the living hell they went through. (It was worse the that). He stated that the Germans really did not need radar. They could spot the bomber planes miles away due to the contrails they were leaving. When the flak started in, you knew right then and there you might not be coming back. I asked why he wanted to be a pilot. His answer was. I was the right height and I always wanted to fly and flew he did.
Then one day, Irv came into the store, and he had brought in his flight jacket to show me. It had aged well over the years. But his name rank and plane's name were faded. On the back of his jacket were bombs painted and they listed all the of the missions he had flown. As I was admiring the jacket, he said that if I wanted to, I could try it on. Yes, I did try it on. You talk about holding and wearing a piece of WW-2 history. It was a grand moment.
Irv and his wife had retired to Dana Point, CA. His wife's health was in declining. So, when he could not make it to the store, he would call in a grocery list and I would make the grocery run to his house after work.
Then the day came when Irv's wife took a turn for the worse. He came into the store with his son and said his goodbyes and that he would not be coming back to Ca. Irv and his wife spent what time they had left with his family and close friends.
To this day I think of them often.
RIP, My friend.

Tony,

Great story! I agree it must have been hell to fly those missions.

My uncle Ben and my father were WWII aircrew.  My uncle was a navigator / bombardier on B-24's and later in Korea on B-26's.  My father was a TBF pilot in the Navy but got reassigned as a radar operator on a minesweeper.  I am probably here as a result of that reassignment.  I was only 7 when my uncle died.  He lived with us and when he was drunk enough he would tell me about life as a bomber flight crew.  He flew out of Italy and Libia and was part of most of the missions they made movies about from that theater.  He had a cigar box with a fuse safety pin from every mission he flew with the date and target.  He flew two tours in Europe and North Africa in B-17's and B24's and another one in B-26's in Korea.  Most of which were low level napalm.  Around 100 combat missions, three medals for bravery, and not a scratch on him physically.  He was still a casualty.  He could never shake the looks on the faces of the ground troops looking up at him as he was about to release the napalm.  They were just kids, and they really were the greatest generation.

This series is based on the book Masters of the Air: America's Bomber Boys Who Fought The Air War Against Nazi Germany by Donald L. Miller which I just finished reading.  It is a gripping, well-researched book about the 8th Air Force bomber campaign against Germany during WWII.  Recommended reading for anyone interested in WWII military aviation and the doctrine of strategic precision bombing.
