I bought some profile landing gear blanks from Mr. Denny and received a message from his daughter while I was away deer hunting that he has been in the hospital. I don't know any details but I will be adding him to my prayer list and thought many of you may wish to do so as well.

Marvin and his wife have been fighting cancer for a while. It has been flaring up and getting treated. I hope it is in remission.

Wishing the best for Marvin, hope he's ok. y1

Spoke to him a few weeks ago. As Bill said he and Rey are in a battle. When I spoke with him he was in good spirits. I do hope he gets better.
-
I spoke with Marvin a few days ago. He was a bit disoriented, but in good spirits. He mentioned he was off of chemo and on heavy pain meds.
Probably one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet. I sure hope he pulls through.

I too hope Marvin aka Big iron is doing well. Yes, him and Rhea have been fighting cancer for a long time. Have not seen him for a while.

Marvin and Rhea used to spend some time in the MECA tent when they were still able to come over to Brodak's. What and interesting couple. One year MECA secretary Walt Zimmerman who used to fly rescue choppers was in the MECA tent. Marvin was a crewman on the B-36 at the time and they swapped 50's airforce stories for what seemed like an afternoon. We used to phone each other every couple of months. Last year when Marvin was in better condition from the cancer, he told me he was recovering from a car accident. He had run over himself getting the morning paper out of the mailbox. Marvin never looses his sense of humor; bless him!

Absolutely two of the nicest people on and off the circle. I am blessed to know them and hope and pray Marvin is improving. The honesty, kindness, and integrity of people like Marvin are what makes C/L what it is.

Isn't "Big Iron" a combat ship from days gone by?

...Carl Berryman design. A VECO kit IIRC. Cheers, John

My prayers are with Marvin. He is a wonderful gentleman!

Marvin was awarded the Jerry Leuty Spirt of the Ring award at the Round up in October.
-
Has anyone talked to Marvin lately? It'd be nice to know how he's doing. I'd give him a call but I wouldn't want to bother him if he's not feeling well.
Dad and I drove down to see Marvin in the beginning of October, and had a great time on our tour of the "junk barrel". I brought home enough bits and pieces to keep me in projects until next October, not to mention all the priceless advice and information learned.
-
My wife and I visited Marvin and Rhea at their home in April of 2010. Marvin showed me his Junk Barrel that is anything but a junk barrel.
I wrote an article about Marvin's Junk Barrel that was published in the July 2010 issue of Control Line World magazine.

I just bought kit from Marvin a week or two ago, and his last email said he was going into the hospital for a procedure and it would be a couple days before he could mail the kit out. I got another email from his daughter that she was going to mail the kit out as Marvin was still in the hospital. I haven't heard anything further since. Both Marvin and his wife are dealing with some serious issues, and I'm sure it's quite a load for the rest of his family. Just keep them all in your thoughts and prayers and hope for the best possible outcome.
Type at you later,

I keep praying for a positive report for both Marvin and Rhea. They are top notch people.

In full agreement with the many previous comments. The Dennys are a grand couple and deserve to hang around the circle for a good long time yet. My prayers will be with them.

A true gentleman, Marvin supplied the out-of-production Veco wheels for my 2008-09 A-26 profile - at no charge, bless his heart.
Ree Denny is a fellow artist, 'though far more talented that I ever was.
Blessings to both of those fine folks.

I just got off the phone with Marvin.
He was a bit weak from the painkillers but we had a nice long conversation.
He requested that nobody call him at the hospital as he has random visits from doctors and he is sometimes disoriented from the drugs.
I'll provide updates.

Please also tell him that Clancy said "Hi."
There is a thread on the RC Groups control line forum about Novi models and it has a picture of Marvin but the wrong name. I posted the correction.
