Many Old Time CL kits Available:
« on: January 21, 2010, 09:27:10 PM »
Mr. Moderator if I am violating a Stunt Hanger rule, please do as you must. I just hate to see this kept secret from those that really care.

I am not selling these and I don't have any desire to make the investment that one needs to obtain these many old-time CL kits. IMO it is too good of a chance for some folks to maybe obtain these kits and keep them within the CL world than to allow them to go unnoticed, and maybe become lost in some warehouse somewhere.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110484299663&_trksid=p2759.l1259

Mostly stunt kits. A bunch.

All sorts, 50 kits.  When you get there the "other items" leads to some more small groups of kits.

Big money but still a real deal for some that have the desire to obtain these "lots" of history.

Good luck.

With out a list his auction is useless. The first group seems to have 18 kits in it.That comes out to $170 per kit. He could send you any thing he wanted if you win unless he list each kit.
Someone let us know how this auction turns out as I don't watch E/bay

For his 50 Combat kits, he has a "Buy It Now" price of $5,500, and $200 shipping.

The current bid is $255 RESERVE NOT MET.

I hate reserves.  For the fee, you can use your reserve price as the starting price and skip the Where's Waldo game.

I think this guy will still own his kits after the auction.  He could get a lot more with five or ten smaller batches.

I sent a request and I received this answer. I am witholding his name and AMA Life Member number for his privacy. You can get that if you wish by sending him a note from the listing.

Hello Horrace, and thanks for your inquiry. I would love to see this collection fall into the hands of a serious collector or a museum. These kits are complete and in great condition. The combat kits 50 ea. are very rare excellent examples of complete kits and the stunt offerings are all beautiful complete kits. (the Shark is signed by designer Lew)

The "kit box" offering states what it is, and that auction offering, should not be confused, with the actual kit offerings in the other auctions. I will write another blurp on each auction to further clarify what I am selling. I hope this note satisfies your request to me, and do keep up your much dedicated, appreciated work, with the AMA.

I was reading the ads on other items and one sounded like a real buy until I got to the end and it was just a bunch of kit boxes. Better read the whole ad b4 you bid.

Sounds like he's looking for a retirement check.
Nothing wrong with that, but be realistic. 50's/60's kit wood quality plus dry rot and warps from questionable storage. The replica kits today are FAR superior.

If you do a little bit every day it will get done, or you can do it tomorrow.

Read my post about 3 above yours. It was more for the serious collector than for a builder. The Stunt kits went for $2500.00.

The combat/sport line never made reserve.

Most collectors take care of how they store their stuff.  I imagine the kits were top notch.  If only I had been born rich instead of so handsome.
