OK gang, here is the production handle as made from one of the kits.  y1

Finish is tinted Polycrilyc Urethane, 3 coats.

Transtint, bought from Rockler.

It really doesn't mix that well with the Urethane, and I have to shake it up just before using it. It mixes just fine with dope.

Polycrilyc is different than Minwax Polycrylic? That stuff isn't fuel proof, so it might get sticky after some use. I have always used 2 coats of finishing epoxy (sand after the first coat, the second coat is decent IMO) and then a wrap of some sort of grip tape...tennis racket, fishing rod, garden tool, etc.  H^^ Steve
