Lou Wolgast
« on: June 04, 2007, 05:04:41 PM »
Last Sunday, June 3, 2007, I had the wonderful honor of meeting Lou Wolgast in person at the 2007 Knights Joust contest in Southern California. For all of you East Coast “old timers”, Lou Wolgast was a former East Coast star and perennial Nats competitor.

Lou was also the designer of the plane most identified with him, the Mirage. Interestingly enough, just some weeks back,I got to fly and trim out a Mirage with a ST 46 for a local flyer who had purchased the plane from someone else.  Thats the goods, the bad news is that, he looks younger than I do lol.

It is wonderful to see these former “stars” still rocking and enjoying their sport.  For me, it is proof positive that control line stunt is one of the best sports\hobbies to be had anywhere.
