Norvel part ID
« on: July 20, 2007, 08:20:23 PM »
Hi Folks,

Scored some Norvel spare parts today, and among them is what appears to be a glow plug clamp (or head button), Norvel part number 100148.

This is not shown on any of the .049. or .061 Big Mig and AME parts lists that I have. Does anyone know what it is, and what kind of plug may fit (if it is a glow plug clamp)?

Also got a NIP Norvel spanner wrench which I've been looking for, so I'm a happy camper!

They also have more rear prop hubs, plus one drive washer for the .049/.061 engines, three prop screws for the .074, and what looks like a piston/cylinder assembly for one of the AME engines, if anyone is interested.

They also had some needle valve assemblies for the .049/.061 RC engines, but the needle is the same as the C/L engines, if anyone needs one.

Thanks,

Bill

I just Googled it an it comes up as a "Standard Short Plug Adapter" It appears that you just screw a standard glow plug into it.  See http://www.hobbymodelismo.com.br/detalhe.asp?cod=100148

Hi Warren,

Thanks for the info.  H^^

I had no idea that Norvel made an adapter for standard plugs, but it's good to know.

My Norvel plugs won't last forever, and the Galbreath adapter would sure looks strange on the .061 cylinder.

I Googled "Norvel parts" in English, but didn't see that web site. Guess I should have tried another language.  ;D

Warren,

Tried that, thanks.

I checked for any user reports on that short plug adapter, but didn't find anything of interest. Someone has surely tried one of these, as they are about six bucks cheaper than any other adapter on the market.

Now I think I'll pop over to the 1/2A forum, and ask around.

Regards,

Bill
