Looking to purchase a vinyl cutter

I have had a Tiger and a Roland. The Roland is by far better but it isn't as cheap as far as cost. The tiger is a lot noisier and doesn't always track straight. I guess it depends are you going to use it in a business or just to make your own paint masks and graphics. Both of mine are 24 inch too and you might be able to get away with a small unit if for home use.

I just purchased a Silhouette Portrait model.  It has the ability to print roll and sheet.  So far no problems and was cheaper than the Roland which I had previously.

A couple of years ago Chris Cox and I went together and bought an SC series vinyl cutter from US Cutter in the Seattle area.  Paul Walker ask us for advise and then he bought one.  The 25" wide model with stand was just under $400.  The software included will do everything we need.  You will need to buy additional graphics software like Corel Draw.  I bought the student version of X14 and it will do more than I can ever figure out how to use.

I have the MH serries from US Cutter and it does well for a cutter less than $225 bucks.

I bought a Roland Stika STX-7 years ago just to do trim and mask work on my airplanes. It uses 7 inch wide vinyl and low-tak masking vinyl. Was one of my better investments. 7 inch wide vinyl has taken care of everything I have needed and the 7 inch cutter is affordable for personal use.

I've been using a vinyl cutter for over 20 years. I have a sign, art and graphics business.

I do model airplane graphics also. Hard to believe, but my graphics have made it to the Nats! 

Mozy on over to CFC Graphics at the Vendor's corner. You can get a good idea there as to what can be possible with a cutter and a good graphics program.

Crazy as it may seem, Plenty of stuff can be cut by hand. I think I did a Thread on hand cutting vinyl?

No, I wasn't the guy that invented vinyl cutters.
