Looking to by ARF or RTF new bee friendly HELP

Hello,
      I'm a builder and flyer or pilot of radio controlled aircraft.After a recent conversation with my father in law about his child hood days of flying controll line . I thought Iwould have him show me how to fly control line,to give him some interest ,he has been having a difficult time with the chemo treatments he is receiving ,and needs something to take his mind off the discomfort and pain.So...I thought him teaching me, and possibly getting one of his vintage models back up in the air and out of the basement ,would be a great motivator ..to enjoy life and not let it get him down.I'm a survivor myself....Anyway ,with my work schedule and other things i don't have time to build a kit....nor the desire to see another kit go up in flames so to say ..been there done that.So I'm wondering if you could point me to site where i could purchase a ARF or a RTF controll line plane ...for a newbee atleast to this end of the sport.something ..some what crash friendly.

From Tower Hobbies: Top Flite Tutor II ARF with OS LA .46 Or Flite Streak with OS LA .25. Both are fairly easy to assemble and fly great. The LA motors are user friendly!! I have and fly both. Have fun.

Very nice gesture, and sounds like a good idea. :-)

If you tell us the city you live in, it is very likely that there will be some CL flyers near you. Many have extra planes and you may be able to buy a truly "Ready to Fly" plane that is already trimmed with a broken in engine. Given your mission, I'm sure any CL flyers in your area will be more than willing to help get you and your Father airborne.  If you are in the SoCal area send me a PM. I have a few extra planes, and I will get you both in the air.

Plan B:
As others have mentioned, you will enjoy an ARF from Brodak. My favorite is their excellent Flying Tiger P-40, your dad may like this semiscale profile plane as well. As Steve said, the Cardinal is a popular favorite and I do like mine. Both these ARFs are very easy to assemble and your RC skills will make it even easier.

There are several minor mods that make these ARFs even better, but the only mod you really "need" on the two above ARFs is the push rod to the Elevator. Just contact Jim at CLC and tell him which plane you have and he will send you a ready made CF push rod setup with ball links custom made for your plane.

Hi Mark,
Like Ty I have the Primary Force, for my son. Very simple, no flaps. I used all of the provided hardware except the screws, which I replaced with regular 4 40 screws. Neat and easy, wheels, tank, pushrod, horn, everything.

I also will say go with Sig Primary Force with an LA 25 for power.  I watched Dan McEntee take a third place with his and he didn't even have it completely trimmed yet.  In fact first flights were that day.  Reason I say use a 25 is that if father-in-law is still a little weak from therapy it won't pull him out of the circle.  The ARF Flite Streak is another good choice and is lighter, but, not as sturdy as the PF.  Let us know how you do.  Also tell him that flying/building model planes prolong life.  DOC Holliday

Dollar for dollar the Brodak ARF Cardinal and a Brodak .40 is a very hard combination to beat.  It got me back into control line and I was able to learn the pattern with this setup.

Boy I would sure look at a Ukey as a primary trainer, they are so very easy to repair, heck 5 min epoxy at the feild can fix almost anything you can do to it. I have one with an LA 25. it flies the whole pattern plus it can be mellowed to be more stable,, foam wing, simple!
and really I think they are cheaper than the other ARFS especially when repairs are considered
