Try "GOOGLE EARTH" for flying sites?
« on: September 28, 2006, 11:12:02 AM »
Although the "freebee" Google Earth website....has rather outdated pictures for many locations, I found out yesteday that  my local Windemere Real Estate has an updated prescript' version that has a new down load of GOOGLE EARTH that seems to be considerably improved over the  old one that have been using.

We spent some time looking at new construction development land sites here in the Seattle Tacoma, Gig Harbor area and found some pretty interesting building sites...with many streets, large paved parking lots, and best of all...huge turnabout culti-sacks' that should prove to offer some really nice control-line stunt pads, worth investigating.

My son, Ryan...found our local site just a few miles north of my home here in Gig Harbor, that has  a beautiful piece of circular piece of black top, that has been unhabited for the past years due to violations of building codes and rules.

According to one of the near bye neighbors, who flies RC...uses those paved streets for a runway.

Bill  told us that the builder and contractors are having water issues with the county water planning board...and this property is  still  under litigation. Although he has flown often...he has never been asked to leave or stop flying there....however????
 Good news n' bad news...
Unfortunately...or fortunately we have a pretty good flying site  (THAT IS) until all this is settled.
More surprising yet...is that this property has not been closed off as yet, although I am pretty certain that we could be---flyin n' squattin on a time bomb. j1
ASKED TO LEAVE AT ANY TIME...
humm?
I can just read the headlines in my local paper. "OLD MODEL STUNT GRUNT ARRESTED FOR FLYING "TOY-AIRPLANES ON STRINGS...CHARGED WITH MUTIPLE COUNTS OF TRESSPASSING! ~> f~

Smotzie,

You're just as funny  as you ever were. You always made everybody smile no matter the situation. Sure hope I can get up to visit you and Mike. And if you're ever down towards Sacramento you better call and spend a night at my home. Sure hope you get back into flying. I know Phil attends most of the contests at Woodland. Now if I could just get my field finished we could all get together and fly, eat, drink and talk over old times.

Hey Smotzie,

My Addres is
1101 Cobalt Court,
Rescue, CA 95672.

Any way you can blow up that slide and send me a picture or post it here on the web. I have a picture of the one I built in Viet Nam and I did talk to George to rattle my brain on all the quirks in the design that I couldn't remember. I think I might even have a root template. But the picture would still help as I do want to build another one.

Bruce, not to worry about being arrested by home land security...as they know just how much we love torture' huh?
They won't get any worth while information...from folks who have built up a life long addiction to the love of pain thru our beloved model airplane buildin'??

I don't have any problem with the military or the local police. They have been to my place and even used my shooting range.
The only ones that have to worry are the un-invited. If they drive pass the shooting range they then have to get by the dog, then one of  4 mags , 45 acp's, 40s, 357s, 30-06, 308, mini 30, etc., etc, etc. And teena is a better shot than I am.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREAAAAT GOOGLE SHOTS OF GREAT FLYING SITES...UUUUUUUUUUBET!

I fibbed a bit...I ran out of time today, grouting a tiling job....and by the time I got down to my photo store...they were just puttin the key in the door.
Hopefully they can put those slides on a disc. for me. and I send them to the web site...and the disk on to you, Bruceski'  I'll never forget that beautiful Lieb model that you built---truly a work of art.
George was  as proud as a new Daddy, when he first saw you fly that design of his.
Yes, that was truly a memorial Great flying stunter.  Judges seem to either love that design or some of the more traditional judges from days gone bye...HAD A HECK OF A TIME gettin' those NOBLER & THUNDERBIRD PICTURES OUT OF THEIR SUN-FRIED BRAIN CELL DAMAGED NOGGINS and get with the flow of the--------humm? never mind...that would reall ~^y date me as one really old stunt-fart.

The picture of Cobalt Court is not of my property. But I do have a nice area if I can ever get it done. Seems like every weekend gets planned ahead of me.
