Hi All,
I built two stunt airplanes while stationed at Kadena Air Force Base in 1963 and 1964. I called the first one "Genie" and the second one "Aquila 4". Genie was a "D" tube wing and Aquila was a "I" beamer. During that time I met two Sargents who also flew stunt. When it was time for me to leave Okinawa I gave each one of the Sargents a plane. I have forgotten their names and they probably have forgot mine too. Attached are photos of each plane and me. I am presently building the "I" beamer, it is shown with my Aetos. I plan to build Genie during the winter months.
If these planes look familiar to anyone please let me know I would like to renew the acquaintances if possible.
Thanks,
Roger Greene

Very cool story. I hope you can reconnect.
You are the only other guy I know that has built a Aetos. My buddy Kreth has a old one that flys well.

Thanks Paul,
I am glad you like the AETOS. It is my design and the orange one is the original. I am planning to build a full fuselage one this winter.
Thanks,
Roger

Hey Roger I was stationed at Kadena too, 1989-91 (last duty station) I flew R/C at Yomitan which was apparently a former WWII Japanese Airbase. Where did you fly yours at?
-
Robert. I learned to fly R/C @ Yomitan in 1971. CG Falcoln 56, a Heathkit radio, and a fox.35 stunt motor w/os carb wired and epoxied to it. Was stationed w/Army @ Machinato Depot. Nick

Can't remember exactly where we flew, but it was on Kadena within walking distance of the craft shop. Don't need a big field to fly control line.
