Title: Looking for one of these mufflers,,, My dad always says it was an "Adamission"?
Post by: Jared Hays on August 23, 2018, 11:39:23 PM
Looking for another one of these mufflers, My dad always said a guy named something like Art Adamission? custom made them.  It fits a ST46.  Any one know of any laying around anywhere?

Yes Jared that's a "Big Art" Adamisin muffler and should be a pretty valuable collectors piece.  I ran them on my Tiger .46s.  They aren't generic-they were each made to fit a particular engine.  I believe he later made them without the fins and sold some through Brodak?  Long gone though now and you'd be lucky if anyone who had one wanted to turn loose of it.  Then, it would have to fit your engine.  I loved mine but couldn't find another .......20 years ago.  Maybe you'll get lucky.

Dave

Hi Jared
Trib pretty well summed it up. Dad made lierally thousands of the finned design, then reverted to the no-fin design to save a few grams. When he could no longer run his machines, he sold all his designs to Brodak.  Brodak stocks them for several popular engines and will make one-offs upon request.

Thanks too to your dad for remembering these really cool mufflers!

These were the first of this type of muffler which many prefer over a tongue muffler. Scott Dinger's offering is about the same dimensions and very light. He's a busy small business owner but if you can get through to him and he has any made up, I would stock up on them! They work real well with St.46's , 51, and .60's.
   Type at you later,

The one in the first pictures has the bolts (4-40 socket heads, 3/32" Allen wrench) inside the tube, with access through those holes opposite. Beware of those holes, because invisible flames come out of them at about 2,000* F. and will burn the bejeebers out of you. The one in James' picture has the screws coming through the engine muffler lugs, and makes a whole lot more sense and a better installation.

I have one of those mufflers, just like the #1 picture. AFAIK, the G.21 .46, G.51 and ST .60bb all have the same exhaust bolt pattern. I was thinking about putting some sort of threaded insert into the muffler and make it so I could bolt through the engine, like James' version. Or, I could probably be persuaded to part with it, so make an offer by PM if you want...plus USPS at actual cost.  H^^ Steve
