Title: Looking for home machinest
Post by: Keith Spriggs on February 10, 2007, 06:08:59 AM
I know that some of you are amateur home machinist. This is another of my many (too many) hobbies.  I have made several CL related items and have plans for several more along with other projects and tools.. Generally these are of limited interest to most of the people who participate here, however they might be of interest to you. If you are a home machinist and would like to share information please email me or send me a PM. This is a fantastic forum and I make a real effort to stay focused on posting things that might appeal to the bulk of the readers here. This invitation applies not only to active home machinist, but anyone that has an interest.

After about 35 years of being a wage slave machinist, I'd rather buy it, if I can. But if I can't, I can sometimes make what isn't otherwise available. If anybody needs advise, however, I'm willing enough. Most the work I've done is prototype or small batches of weird stuff, and strange materials, so I have lots of experience in planning the job sequences, fixturing, and hiding the fubar parts in the chip bin. I've just bought a Unimat 1 (only cost £80 - £100 with shipping) for XMAS although I've spent about £100 more on it since then.

I've just made my first venturi with it and am pretty pleased - I intend to try some tongue mufflers/muffler adaptors (especially for a slant stack Johnson).
