Title: Looking for Brodak .25
Post by: Marty Hammersmith on November 19, 2023, 03:44:01 PM
I'm looking for a Brodak .25. I'd prefer New In Box but might be open to others.

Have you contacted Brodak?

I don't think the Brodak .25 has been available for quite a while. The web site shows out of stock.
  Type at you later,

Brodak has not had their 25 & 40 engines in stock for 2+ years now. That seems to tell me they may be getting out of the engine supply business.

The supply of the Brodak 25 and 40 has dried up due to the situation where the engines were made.  Same with Stalker, from what I have heard.

It's the same people - the Stalker and Brodak 40s were essentially the same engine, at least the first batch.

I doubt if production of those engines will resume, either in the original factory or some other site.  Demand is declining due to advancements with electric power and I see no end in sight regarding the conflict there.

Instead of a Brodak 25, is something like a Magnum 25 or LA 25 a suitable substitute?  You might find one of those on eBay.

Well, I have a number of Royal, Blue Bird and World Engines Brats in .25 and .28 displacements. They’re all convertible. In fact I have a .28 Blue Bird on a Ringmaster. I just thought I’d like to fly a Brodak too.

Seriously?!  Of course.

I wasn't trying to ask a stupid question.
A lot of people search for Brodak items without contacting the main source.
