American Aircraft Modeler, June 1971. On second thought, not sure if he didn't publish it twice, first as a 35 size and a later larger version...

Vic Macaluso did two versions of his Crusader. The first one for "a good 35 engine" was in American Aircraft Modeler, June 1971, as mentioned by Dennis above. His Crusader II, for piped a piped .40 was in Flying Models, October 1994.

In his article on the Crusader II, Mic Macaluso explained that his 35 powered first Crusader basically had nobler moments with a "modified" Chipmunk wing. His Crusader II has SV-11 numbers and wing except the wing is shoulder mounted with anhedral and has the added LE strakes on the outboard positions of the wing. His engine was a piped OPS .40.

Theres a bit of differance in the tips , and the larger ones a bit more stretched out . Crusaderish even . Thhe C V Corsairs a bit more dumpy .

The real very man himself . Of course if somebody had a set of SV II wings hanging about , they'd be well underway .
