I am looking for help (again) on any dates or facts about this Kit, the Lively Lady, by St. Leonards Model Supply in the UK. The plan shows no date of production and I can find no data on this model. I've found St Leonards produced the Lucky Lady and Lovely Lady but can't find this one. It shows designed by Ken Day, spans 45", has flaps and requires a 2.5 - 5.0 cc engine which is inverted in the plane. It reminds me a bit of a Barnstormer. Any help ????????????

According to Dave Day's Home Page which lists which has the most comprehensive list of OTS and Classic designs, the Lucky Lady appears in the Classic listing with a 33" span, designed by K.A. Day, published in Model Aircraft magazine in July 1955. The Model Aircraft magazine was published in England from the late 40's to the early 60's and was similar to the format of Aeromodeller. I have a Plans Handbook for Aeromodeller and Model Aircraft magazines that show sketches of most of the Model Aircraft designs. The Lucky Lady is listed for 2.5cc engines, and the sketch shows flaps. Nicely proportioned airplane.

Thanks for the reply, I did see the Lovely Lady & Lucky Lady listed but can't find any reference to this plane. The name is definitely the Lively Lady - I have one of the kits.

I went back to Dave Day's home page. His listings do not show any "Lively Lady" in either of the listings for OTS or Classic. That does not necessarily mean that the "Lively Lady" information you are looking for is was not in either of the OTS or Classic categories. However, I have found that the Dave Day Listings to be the most comprehensive of any lists that I am aware. Those listings include many British kits that are not well known here in the US.

I talked a couple of years ago with Barry Baxter and he tried to find some info on it but was unable to. I'm sure it would be N30 legal but possibly even classic ???? The plane has a nice style . I am trying to get a look at the "Lovely Lady" plan to see if there might be an error in the name of that plan ???

Dalton,
Very likely a simple Typo in the article.
Only one letter slip, and those letters are side by side on my keyboard (I and O).

Hello Doc, Yes I can furnish a plan, it is two pages and I've made rib patterns for it. I would say $6.00 should cover the plan and mailing. Send to Dalton Hammett, P.O. Box 7, Albion, Pa. 16401 No. Paypal

Found this photo, and I noted the odd rib spacing.

You forgot to put a ruler on the drawing . VD~

Well, there were actually two different models with close names. I thought it was a misprint !!!!!!!

As I'm at a interruption on plane I'm presently working on. I'm getting ready to start making templates. I will probably post pictures when I get started. D>K
