In the middle of my busy Summer Show Season and currently performing at the Minnesota State Fair for the 23rd consecutive year and the fairgrounds are 4 miles from my house.
Tossed the Mustang in the car yesterday and after doing my shows headed straight out to the flying field. Pulled up and Bob Cheney was there mowing. Thanks Bob))))
Got four flights in as I need to really get ready for the Carolina Criterium contest in October. First contest for me in 20 years.
I felt relaxed and man did it feel good to have the handle in my hand.
Still working on a decent pattern.....seems that is a lifetime of work!

Hey I appreciate that feller. It is been a fun summer learning to fly this pattern and boy is there still a lot of work to do. Can always look at this and see 1 million mistakes but also I try to look at it and see what I'm doing good as well. And then I walk away feeling real good knowing I had some fun and drive home with my airplanes intact. Thanks again.

Dude this place has been a little boring while you were gone. Glad your back. LL~
Well if you go back and look at some of your earlier flights with your Dewey Bird and Baby Streak I think you will agree you have improved a great deal.
Now about your pattern....YEAH BABY!
Buddy that was a very respectable flight! My prediction is unless there is a real sandbagger at Huntersville you should take first place and get the boot. IMHO. :##

Thankee Paul. Been reading and lurking and watching Sparky's Mirado build videos. Looking forward to building this winter now.
I was lucky to get to fly a lot this summer and had some really terrific coaching from Keith Sandberg in particular. He has "mock judged" me some and it is a great help...and inspiring.
I plan to practice up as much as I can before the contest to be ready and have some good fun. Taking it seriously though.
Thanks for the kind words. I just don't want to embarrass myself...or my club the MSP Piston Poppers. They have all helped me!

The day you stop seeing mistakes is the day you stop improving.
