I am committed to being pit man for an old friend at the regionals in Roseburg. I've never been involved in anything like this so some practice was in order. But how does one arrange this when I'm in Spokane and he is in Lynwood and has a flying field in Arlington which is north of Everett? Answer, I leave at 6 am and drive there, spend 2.5hrs learning the process while he flies , then drive home. 648.5 new miles on the Subaru today, taking the odometer past the 284K mark. Love this car, but my goodness is my butt tired of that seat!!!!

In he 70's I used to love the drive to and from Ft Lewis to Yakima, Spokane, or Wenatchee
Peaceful, great scenery in the mountain passes, low traffic, leisurely due to 55MPH limit....winter driving was some times iffy requiring a stop to put on chains up on the pass
I few years back I drove up to the Bladder Grabber 2013 or 14.....mad house traffic, higher speeds, lots of dumb drivers screwing with trucks, very nervous experience and never got to gawk at the beautiful scenery....
Gary, you are indeed a great friend to make that long day journey!
