Lone Star Balsa
« on: January 03, 2008, 09:41:50 PM »
I'm going to be going to Dallas tomorrow on a business trip, is there any news on whether Lone Star will be opening back up or not?

Thanks,

James

Thanks for the reply, I hope they are able to re-open at some point.

I received an e-mail from Mike Wooten last week as a reply about refunds for orders not sent before the fire. He indicated they are indecisive about re-opening. Pretty darn bad fire they experienced there.Bad stuff.

I can't imagine the headaches involved dealing with such an incident, but here's hoping that they are able (and willing) to get up and running again.

I really do hope that Riley, and Mike, decide to open back up!  They are such great people to deal with.

You think it’s bad for us who want a couple hundred dollars worth of good balsa? Think about the all the CL Kit manufactures that need a thousand or several thousand dollars worth of good balsa. I think this is going to be a big problem shortly.

I know that the last time I was at Brodak's, he probably had as much balsa in stock in the warehouse as Riley did! LOL!!  Some of the smaller guys will feel the pinch, though.

As much as I appreciate the job John, and others, are doing, I would like to be able to buy *SOME* good balsa for personal building.  Not all of us can afford, or like, to only build kits. ;D

I too hope they rebuild and get going.  Of course my little order probably wouldn't amount to much as some of their customers.  DOC Holliday

Yea, I certainly found other sources, but I really liked dealing with Riley and Mike.
