Well, that's pretty clear and obvious when and when it will be allowed, and as long as they stay over the grass runway, it shouldn't bother us flying C/L models on the KidVenture circles. The one issue would be the helicopter tour flights. I think they usually fly right until sundown, and they over fly the grass strip. Like to see a quad copter get hit by the rotor wash from a Bell model 47!
They do seel RTF R/C stuff in the metal display buildings and have for years. When we fly in the evenings at the Kidventure site, some one always comes by with some sort of R/C ARF trying to figure it out. We'll see how well this is accepted and even utilized by any R/C flyers. By 7PM in the evening, most people are pretty tired after a long day and ready to pack it in.

Unless Base Ops changed the Helicopters' departure path it will be a bit of a mess.

I'm a bit weary of MORE RC stuff flying in that area. Last year I had an RC airplane almost hit me while flying kids on multiple occasions and Gerri and I went and complained about it. It happens again and someone's feelings are going to get hurt.

Maybe we will get some RC/quad-copter mid-airs. That would kill two birds with one stone (no pun intended)...

Will you be at Oshkosh this year Sean/Dan?  I'll drop by and say hello.  Joan and I plan to fly over following the Nat's on Sunday, and spend a few days at Airventure before heading back to the west coast.

Just for future reference...how was the title supposed to read? If you meant "POT", maybe we could consult my next door neighbor?  S?P Steve

So a demo team has been flying instruction and doing demos for years.   And there have been some "bandit" RC activity in the campgrounds and private land adjacent the airport.

Now EAA has a document that provides guidelines and enforcement.  In the past security guards did not know what to do except have a friendly conversation that did not always go well.

I could see some vendor trying to set up and fly his stuff.  Or a non eaa film crew filming the event for profit from the parking lot.

I don't think you should read anything more into it than that.

Also there will be a RPV area in a cage for the inclined.

With all the Pot stirring, Why don't some of you volunteer?

Those are the people that I'm refering to that cannot seem to keep their models out of my circle.

EAA can make policy until they are blue in the face but security guards will do little to no good in enforcing these regulations without FAA support.  The only way to enforce these neat new rules is to have FAA folks out there writing fines for airspace violations, and I'm not betting the farm on that happening.

I could see some vendor trying to set up and fly his stuff.  Or a non eaa film crew filming the event for profit from the parking lot.

We've seen several instance of sUAS operators doing whatever they want without the thought of consequences posted on this forum alone...

Assuming everyone plays by the rules, the least of everyone's worries is airspace congestion.  That sUAS corridor buts RIGHT against one of the CL circles.  No buffer area at all.  The RC guys at least have "competent" "Instructors" behind the controls.  From what it sounds like, this corridor is simply a place for these sUAS guys to fly, meaning no supervision and someone could show up with one of these things that they bought an hour before and fly it, with no prior experience, around some pretty congested areas, say, the CL/RC field and that pedestrian crosswalk that crosses the runway.

Again, assuming everyone plays by the rules...

yes the RC guys were over our circles during the day and more important over the Hangers and areas where people are.  They have crashed into the trees down by the chapel.  One year they put a windsock in the second circle one of Bud's stunt plane were wiped out.

If you read this carefully, this is for operation between 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM only.  Kidventure is shut down.  Pilot station on the museum side.

Sunset during July in Oshkosh is about 8:40pm.  I have to stop flying RC well before that due to loss of light.   The choppers will fly till dusk or about 9:15. So operation with lights is expected? oh goody.  Depth perception is at a premium and low light.
