Liquid Piston Engines
« on: August 22, 2023, 11:42:28 AM »
I noticed the LPE promotional video begins with what appears to be a RC model airplane. Now that I hit on it out of curiosity it won't go away, LOL. Anyone have any thoughts on the theory, old or new?  Here we have a couple of people, father and son developing the concept and wish to seek investors. It's way too early for me even consider going anywhere with this but it is interesting. Check it out. Google the topic it should pop up.

They've been at this for 20 years. It faces many of the same issues as the Wankel.

If it is as functional and fuel saving as they say, the petroleum industry will never allow it.  Also it goes against the electric power the polliticians are pushing. S?P

My primary curiosity came from the very beginning of their promotional video where they have an engine in an RC plane flying or so we are led to believe.

It isn't your typical RC plane, electric hybrid, JP8 fuel..... .gov gave them $9MM to do the work. I hope they got at least one flying example. Anyhow, I don't doubt the engine runs. It's the claims and longevity that must be proven.

Gee, I would have made that engine for 4 million. I think the Achilles heal will ultimately be heat in an engine big enough to power a car.

A car version would be water cooled.
