Line length and Diameter
« on: May 10, 2007, 05:34:38 AM »
I have a Tutor II with a OS 46 for power. What lines should be used for this size plane?

Thanks
Steve

I would use .018 x 65 for openers.
Shorten if needed.
Never flew that plane, but did lots of others with 40 or 46.

I agree.  You "have" to use .018 stranded with a .46 according to AMA.  Line length from eyelet to eyelet at 65' to start should be fine.

  Thanks Guys
I thought .018 was right size just wasn't sure of a length to start with.I'm a sport flyer ,will 60' do,or will it be to fast? I haven't got to the point where i'm learning any pattern.I'm lucky to fly 1/2 a tank without bouncing at least once.
thanks again

As stated, go with 65 foot.  If too slow you can shorten them.  Too fast go to longer line.  Remember it is max 70 feet center of plane to center of handle.  At the NATS one year several had to cut their lines to get to max length.  DOC Holliday
