I found an old photo of a Flight Streak scratch built by my buddy Kreth. I always gave him a hard time on the pink wing. It was covered in silk material. I liked the RC motor mount.
Some good ideas here.

Hopefully it's not the same color (and material) as his underwear. D>K

The wing is OK, but that green? Think I'm gonna puke!
Wayne, you like Dale Mendenhall's pink "Nadir" here? H^^

Looks like a major warp in that wing, and no, the pink doesn't help.

What's wrong with pink? My daughter and granddaughter got some handle time with this Flite Streak Junior. It actually flies pretty good and I did get in one full pattern, but the hour glass was a bit scary!

Yeah! What's wrong with pink?

I had at one one of 4 vehicles that Ford motor company painted the cars. Everybody called it pink. The guys in the Sky devils called it pink also. Dave might remember me going to contests with it. H^^

No prob on the girls airplanes, even makes it a bit more special for them. But, no self respecting dude should ever show up at the field with a pink airplane. (Just poking fun with all this BTW) ;D

Maybe you guys just aren't manly enough to do it. I don't have a problem with pink although that particular pink is just plain ugly. I'm pretty sure he dyed the chiffon because it was probably laying around since 1976 or so. He built it to be able to swap out and run different .25 size engines. It's not a Flight Streak. More of an Ugly Streak but it is straight and well built.
My problem is that piece of crap LEO .25 that was mounted on it at the time of this picture. He got one from someone about 15 years ago when they were being sold dirt cheap and would not accept that it was a hopeless hunk of junk. He thought all it needed was his magic touch. Every time he finished a flight I would ask when he was going to throw that engine in the garbage where it belonged. He finally tossed it.
I'm the guy holding the plane in that picture which was taken around 2007 or 2008.

Hey, lighten up a bit. I used hot pink silk on all of my combat planes back in the 60's. Really easy to tell which plane is yours in a furball.

Last spring I chose pink because it was... Mo'Best!
(note lime green canopy too!)

Pink Power!!

Some guys aren't secure enough in their masculinity to fly a pink plane. VD~

Pepa Pig's plane.

I built a pink Skyray 35. My wife said that if I built her a pink airplane she would learn to fly CL. Of course, once I did, she reneged.
So I brought it to the field to crash and get it out of the way so I could move on to one of the 'guy' colored planes. I did crash it, but the guys at the field gave me crap about a real modeler could fix it instead of trashing it. So two days later it was back at the field flying again, and it never crashed after that. I eventually gave it to my son when I moved.

Hey the old DOC built plane years ago called Candy. I mead the finish all pink. It was a great flying plane. D>K

If my 11yo daughter wants a pink plane to come fly with me, I willl paint that thing pink in a heartbeat!

That's a BIG +1 for that, good luck!

My club brother had a 69 Shovelhead painted that color. I called it Puse and black. LOL

Found it. In the Gallery section under district 9 photos you will see a pick of the old DOC flying his version of the Cotton Candy design by Bill Irwin. H^^

A local guy built a lime green (or maybe yellow) and pink stunt plane and his daughter was incredulous. He got second place in stunt with it at a local contest. I repaired it for him after it was crushed by a van door.

Wayne, are the (painted) checkerboards on the bottom manly enough? The girlfriend wanted pink, daisies, and checkerboards, so that's what she got. She even flew it in a contest. It's also had good success as a loaner. Paul Gibeault won 3rd place with it at the last NATS. He was secure enough to fly it!

Well now there's the rest of the story, it's a chick's plane!

Well, I haven’t logged into the forum in months and low and behold find that I am the subject of humor, derision or whatever. As my son answered, I am quite able to handle it. I’ll just defend the plane. It is built with a wing built in a jig which I designed a little before the Big Iron was kitted and used in a twin boom combat plane called the Bird. I had never seen the Big Iron when I came up with it, even though the two planes resemble each other. The airfoil is similar to the pollywog chief airfoil without the concave portion. It it a D tube, and I have used this structure in Control line as well as RC wings over the years with success. The fuselage stab and rudder ar mostly flitestreak. The RC Mount changes the nose length. It currently has an OS.30 residing on the nose. Just a beater to fly in any conditions. Green is a Chrysler color, nylon chiffon originally that color not dyed. When I grew up we used a lot of tough coverings because we flew mostly hand launched and it was cheap. Plane is at least 25 years old and still in good shape. I’ll forgo any comments as those that know me know that I am a master of sarcasm.

Hey Kreth
Good to see ya back on the boards.
We always had a good day flying at the park unless I planted one in. 🤣

Anyone remember that Far out groovy combat plane with the Flower sticker job pictured in a 1970' ish magazine ad?
