Chris posted on FB: it came from R&G in Germany.

He also mentioned possibly using balsa as the core for the fuse next time, the Airex had some trouble with the compound curves.

(I tried to find both comments on FB, but (for me at least) unlike a forum thread it is terrible for finding stuff you saw before)

Quite an effort for one design. H^^ How many do you have to make before it becomes cost effective Vs balsa.

No problem with compound curves if using blue foam...  pre-shaped with Monokote gun first.  And cheaper to boot.

Do you just lay the blue foam in the molds and then heat with the gun and push and mold the foam to the mold?

A couple of years ago, Eric Rule was experimenting with alternative materials using regular building techniques. I don't know how far he got with it  but from what he told me it made very good sense and would be very cost effective.  He was going to take a model and build one with conventional materials and then build it with alternative materials but using conventional building methods.

Tim, yes exactly as you described. I recommend using hot glove, and also fixing the foam to the mold using a couple of small pieces of double stick tape to prevent the foam from shifting around.

I like the wide fuse on Chris's plane. Hopefully this trend will continue. On most stunt ships the fuse always looks to narrow.
