hey guys
where is a good place to get the numbers and lettering for the wings, ect.

How much money do you mind spending?
How much time do you want to spend?
How nice of a result do you want?
What covering material do you want to use?
If the answer is "not much", "not much", "not much", and "Monocoat", then get some vinyl stick-on lettering at your local craft store.
If the answer is "as much as needed", "as much as needed", "perfect", and "paint (or dope) topcoat", then get someone to cut you out some masks and spray the lettering on.
If the answer is somewhere in between -- let us know more. I think there's a chance that you'll get some opinions.

all finishing on my planes are of Iron on film.

In that case, look for vinyl lettering. I haven't Googled for it, but I bet there's some nice stuff out there.
If you happen to know someone with a vinyl cutting machine you can get lettering and numbers custom-cut. Google Fonts is a rich trove of fancy lettering styles, which you can pick through to find what you like best.
The stuff will come to you on a sheet with the spacing already correct, so there's a lot less opportunity to screw things up than if you get a bunch of individual stick-on letters.

If you can draw or print your own patterns, letters and other decorations can be cut from iron on coverings using your scraps, or from the self stick trim sheets. The old trick of applying them with a spray of dish washing detergent and water, then applying the letters/numbers and let sit until dry still works. Then go over them with an iron on lw heat to final set. The dishwater detergent/water mix activates the adhesive on the back side of the film. Carl Shoup used to put out a dvd of his techniques. Top Flite may still offer a video on how to do and I imagine there is all sorts of stuff on YouTube. Lots of contract vinyl graphic cutters out there also.

With MonoKote I always just used regular Monokote for the markings. Run off what you need on a plain paper copier and tape/staple the printout to the Monokote. Then cut through the paper & plastic with good scissors or a Xacto knife.

Just go on E-Bay and search vinyl lettering. Multiple choices but not many color choices. Mostly white and black.

I have badbradgraphics.com do all mine...he does amazing work and will do custom designs as well very reasonable pricing and fast.

Callie Graphics does great work. She cuts vinyl lettering pretty much to whatever size, color, or font you want. I use her the most to do the AMA numbering on my free flight models. I like big, chrome lettering to aid in visibilty on the ground. big 3.5" number don't affect the weight on my Catapult gliders, so they are very thin and light. She can also do graphics--pretty much anything you want. She has allot of files for Warbird markings and a bunch of other stuff, and anything she doesnt have on file, she can do provided you give her the image of what you need. And shes reasonably priced.
