Join in and talk on and on but not about the BOM. I know they will say "just don't read it if you don't like it". But I keep looking for closure on this issue. There being no closure it is getting older and older. Again I know what they will say. Point is there is no hope to resolve this issue. It gets more ridicules all the time. I think Rich Peabody must laugh and laugh.
-
Not about BOM?
Cool !!! y1
I'll post pics.
1) I think this is Swedish.
2) This is not Swedish. Apparently a new RSM kit. Name is Pentastar.
-
That Pentastar (odd name) is devastatingly handsome. Man I like the looks of that ship. Now if only I had a rich relative with a bad heart. LOL I'm a sucker for anything that has an eliptical (semi-eliptical anyways) wing. That ship just plane looks mean and out to win! I think RSM has a winner there. H^^
-
Actually, the Pentastar made me think of the Stuntress and one or two other Joe Adamusko designs.
Also, Tom Niebuhr's Top Hat.
(I don't remember where I stole the Stuntress picture, the Top Hat must be from some thread here)
-
That Stuntress is beautiful....and that paint job....VA VA VA VOOM! y1 H^^
-
Yeah, Joe has really done some great elliptical designs. real neat guy, too!
Always wanted a set of plans for his U-2......... ;D

I remember the U-2. That was in one of mags back in the day. Cool looking bird.

U-2?
vicstunt seems to have an article on it:
http://www.vicstunt.com/History/U2-Page.htm
looks ... different :P
-
The "Pentastar" is Lou Wolgast's PA design, and the name comes from the "MOPAR" symbol (Chrysler Corp.). I got the impression that Lou either worked for Chrysler or is just a big fan of MOPAR products. It is a nice looking plane, as is the Stuntress. Tho Lou is "retired" to Tucson, he's from the same "neck of the woods" as Joe Adamusko.
It's interesting to watch YouTube videos of a bunch of "West Coast" patterns and then watching a bunch of "East Coast" patterns. Try it, and see what's different. Report back! 010! Steve

Having posted those racer-look planes, how have I missed the Tsunami?
http://id3420.securedata.net/speedpropsandpylons/jrs_index.html
Does anyone have a GOOD picture of the Tsunami? I have saved a few decent ones of the "full size" one but not Windy's design.
-
A bit late on this one but here is Joe Adamusko's Dreampiece from the Brodak 2010 FlyIn.
-
It is never too late, or early, for a good looking aircraft.
I'll post a couple of things that are not American.
-
Both of those are very good and the structure on the Wind Dancer is outstanding!

structure on the Wind Dancer is outstanding!
Looks complicated, but maybe there's a right way to do that kind of constructions...
-

There's a piece on the Stunt Design topic titled "Geodetic wing stiffness", where we get excited about the Wind Dancer.

Chuck thats been an issue since I was a kid and that was long ago and far away. How ya gonna enforce it? Put cameras in everybodys garage to make sure they build their own. If you spies to go around to see if someone else was building their own you could probably bribe th spy and if he didnt get bribed he could say you didn't even if you did. See it never ends. hmm I wonder how much it would cost to have a chinaman to build me a stuka n1 ::) n~ jim
-
"Chinaman"? Thats flat out bigoted. Not nice. and the whole point of this thread is to NOT discuss BOM.
-
a couple of photos of models

Photo #2 my models

No BOM talk from 1 to 20 what would you score these models

Ok let me add another one
This was my 2006 Tiger.
This was built after I came back from the Worlds in 2004 in USA.
Another comp - same plane.
And just to clarify : This is the 2004 Model.
This model is no longer in existance due to line break ( well Unravelled from the eyelet -only happened once and that was it. )
-
What a paintjob! Not quite as good as the Brazilian models, but I'm sure you understand! LOL How did you do the paint....free hand or templates?
-
Free hand Airbrush. 200hrs .
This was one of the 1st models I did with a tiger print paint job Finished for the 2002 season. It was VERY good. Started life with Moki .51 then upgraded to Stalker .61 then to the Longstroke version - I won 3 State Championships with this model.
I lost that model also after lending it to a fellow flyer to get a feel for something better - Vertical 8 into wind and said " I just lost sight of it "
I always prefered the look of the tiger print with Solid lines, more than the airbrushed, I felt that the amount of time it took to airbrush ( despite what it looked like..) Never gave as much of an impact as the solid lines..

This is my 2010 model - which was posted a few months ago

Im in primer stage of my 2011 edition.

Yes, that's a "young" Joe Adamusko, all right! ;D There is also mention of "not confusing it with Frank Warburton's much earlier model". I have never seen both set of plans together so I do not know the differences. I can bet that Frank's was powered by a Merco .35, though! LL~ LL~
It "IS" different. y1

Well Jose, it's tough going from pictures, but I have seen some of your and Jimmy's models in person, So......
Photos #1 and #2: 17-18. (I'm tough on AP LL~ LL~ )
Photo #3: all three get 20 points. ;D (didn't I meet the lady in the middle at Huntersville? ;D )
Bill

Ohh I wouldnt give any of them 20 points...
When you look at the quality of what has been front row 20 points before..
If you look in the judges guide - Quality of fit and finish scores high.
As my example of a couple of 20 pointers..

Hey, that is not stunt related n1 n1 VD~
OK, neither are these:
edit:
How did you get all those barbie dolls twisted like that anyway ??? LL~

Well, PJ, since I am sure I have been married longer than you've been around, my AP criteria for THOSE model subjects might be a bit different than yours..........

Just spotted elsewhere.
An R/C electric foamy, 90% finished, 90% to go.

I'm pretty sure silicone or saline implants are a violation of the BOM rule . . . . oops, not supposed to talk about that.
-
Rick :
I'm pretty sure silicone or saline implants are a violation of the BOM rule
No no no your WRONG.. It clearly states :
In the case of rubber-powered models (excluding Indoor duration models), commercially available balsa, plastic, and hardwood propellers may be used.
Its there in black and white.
Bill : My requirements are pretty simple.......... They need to be Pretty. S?P

All of the female models would score a zero with this old man. They wouldn't last one day out in the hot sun of Muncie INDIANA helping me with the planes. Now the planes are all 20 pointers to me. And PJ if you were at the 2004 Worlds we probably seen each other. I met so many people that year that it is hard to remember them. The New Zealand team was the ones that let me eat with them at the banquet the first night/day. Was after all the countries marched in if I remember right. Have seen a couple of them at later NATS when they came over/up for speed flying. I was the old man trying to get the vests on the F2C competitors before they got in the circle. One young lady caught this old mans eye and I couldn't speak her language. She was a pit person. H^^

Something tells me that I should post this one photo that keeps appearing on cycling related forums. You can almost exclusively see it in threads containing debates on clothing. Specifically: should mountain bikers wear tight shorts which are functionally great, or baggy shorts that some find esthetically more pleasing. Sometimes the color of the tight shorts is also mentioned.

... let me know if you prefer airplane pics ...

What do you mean " if you were at the 2004 worlds "
How else would I have this photo ? LL~
(http://i52.tinypic.com/334j8sl.jpg)
Alas - I don't remember everyone either - Maybe we can fix that in July?
-
I like it when they have some curves. Not too skinny. Some muscle too: don't want them to get tired too soon. Maybe even a bit of character.
-
More anti BOM debate stuff. The curves on this baby are not quite in the league of what brother JP is throwing down,(pretty good Mr. Rowland) but it ain't bad.

PJ, please I am not disputing your word really. D>K I probably won't be there this year again. But, it is great to read about past NATS and see pictures of people that I know now and did not know them then. Who can remember this transplanted farm kid flying a Sterlng Gaurdian with a Merco .49 in Navy Carrier? At leeast I didn't place last and got complete flights. H^^
-
JOhn : I didnt mean anything by it - I just posted the photo - I knew what you meant - I thought it was ammsuing the way you said it. ;D
-
If you really try, there's enough space in your home to build it:
-
PJ, I am still laughing. Now the post after yours reminds of a neighbor that built his plane, A full size bi-plane. He bought a gutted out mobile home and put it in his back yard. When all major parts were done he knocked out the end of the mobile home. H^^
-
Here's a couple of more build pictures.
The source is http://www.taylortitch.co.uk/

I used to fly a buddy's Taylor Monoplane. Fun little airplane, very similar to the Titch.
