Legacy is finally done.

I got the legacy done. 61 ounces. ST 51, Monokote. I built it per kit except for the wing tips. Waiting to test fly.

I like the header. That it's Finally done. Isn't that the way. When the plane is done, we look at it and appreciate the end product. We tend to forget the pain that was accumulated along the way. I'm currently sanding primer on a new classic plane. And sanding and sanding and sanding. The tediousness of it is almost overwhelming. I suppose we all have stuff that is fun in building and stuff that we just have to get through so we can get to the fun stuff. Nothing quite like shooting on base color then pulling the tape for that first trim color.

I like the Legacy. Interesting trim colors. Should look very cool on the flight line.

Beautiful plane Terry. I bet she fly's as good as she looks. I wish the wind would go down here so I could get in some flying. Had gusts to 46 mph today. Not good for trimming out new planes, or for flying old ones for that matter. Topeka is coming up and I am not ready. But hey! We will have fun anyway.

Thanks guys! It's nice for me when one gets finished and I can sit it back and look at the finished product. Reflect on the work to get there, & things I would change next time.....
I like to build two planes each winter so this year they were both CL planes. (Other one is the Chief in OTS)
The word "Finally" in the header was because, I like to scratch build and the kits take me a little longer....so it seems, since I try to follow the instructions...read. read . read.
*this I forgot to mention: The lettering is also Monokote, Crist showed us how to do that in St.Louis this last Feb at the Ice-O-Lated meet. (Shared some of his building secrets when a group got together after supper) Thanks Crist! Lots better than stick on!

I'm thinkin' that the distortion is not lens induced, but maybe a change in the 'aspect ratio' of the picture when it was resized? It makes it look like a Super Chipmunk canopy...or maybe it is? You'll appreciate the wide LG's great takeoffs and landings!  Nice plane!    Steve

Dennis, The build might not be as long to some as it was to me. Seem like most of the wood working went along pretty good.(Nice kit of coarse, "Brodak")  I continued to work on it alot but the progress slowed way down, still fun though.....remember: A bad day at the flying field is still better than a good day at work!....something like that.  To answer your question, I started it on Dec. 27th and the photo was 4-13. During the winter I devote alot of time to building, I may enjoy that as much as flying....since I am not  a top flier. I consider a good flight to be: No extra pieces!  Thanks! Terrry

Very, very nice, Terry!!!  I am looking forward to seeing it fly.  It is always better to have an airplane that is capable of more than you are.  Your flying will continue to improve!

Thanks for the good pictures Keith! Well....We had a "Perfect" day for flying Sunday & I got to fly it for the first time Sunday  afternoon. No credit to me but it's the best flying plane I ever flew. Smooth, predictable, Good sharp corners. Of coarse I have not got the RPM Up yet since it now has three tanks ran through the new ST 51 but it ran very consistant for us yesterday. I think we have a winner. Great Job Allen Brickhaus (Designer) and Brodak, Good quality kit. I will be building this one again ......some day. Recommend it to anyone.
