I will not be there this time. I wasn't sure if I would make it but now I know I will not. I just left the hospital after 2 days there and I have lost all balance. They ran test but I need more. This seems worse then the stroke as it took my motor control. I walk around like i'm drunk all the time. Do not worry though because I will be back.  Ya'll have fun.

Hi Curtis,

Sorry to hear that you have a problem. It sounds like what I had (have) a couple years ago; Benign Vertigo. It is in the inner ear and makes you think you are falling over. Very dehibilatating (sp?) I have had two bouts of it. The last one was over a year ago and lasted about four hours. Makes you think you are very drunk.....

The first one sent me to the hospital to get diganosed......first ambalance ride I have ever had and the last I hope.

Get well soon, Jerry

How about lasting 3 1/2 days so far. Is this benign vertigo and how did you get rid of it.

3-1/2 days! WOW!

OK, Lay on your back with your head hanging over and down as far as you can get it. Next S-L-O-W-L-Y turn your head from one side to the other. Then S-L-O-W-L-Y sit up.

What this is susposed to do is to reset the microscopic particles (or rocks as my Dr. says) in the inner ear. These rocks sometimes flip up into the tube that has hairs in it to detect motion and get stuck. That is what causes benign vertigo. This is a layman's explanation................

Hope you get it solved, Jerry

That helped. I guess it is better to come here than go to the hospital. I am not 100% but I will keep doing the exercise and see how it goes.  THANKS !!!

    Curtiss,
so sorry to here about your latest issue. We will certainly miss you, but we will be praying for the Lord to bring you out of this along with whatever the doctors and /or therapists do. Mom suffered with out of place rocks in her inner ear a few years ago and did some exercises and therapy similiar to what has been mentioned here and she got much better.
             God Bless,
                            Doug

Joe, the "our gang", including Butch and Froggy will be out at the field all day Friday. We should have all the pits set up and field marked before anyone arrives. Expecting cool clear mornings for contest days according to the forecasts. Temperatures they say will be in the mid-40's early AM. The ladies will need jackets/sweaters in the mornings. We will have water, power aid, and cold drinks at the field Fri for yawl. I'll be reminding people frequently to stay hydrated even though weather will be mild. Two to three days in the sun, the long drives to and from the contest, and the strain and stress of competition really do drain the body of strength. So glad you, Colleen, Mrs.Joan, and Mr. Mike are coming. All yawl's presence really brightens up the contest.
